With Live Journal being under attack .. and also thinking the DW is open to a trying to get a RPG going here, I'm wondering what you, other writers/gamers are looking for.  I have several interests but finding a group to play with.

What theme are you looking for?  What type of game do you wish you can find?

I myself like prison, post-war/end of the world, even celeb settings.

If a few people get with a same idea, I'm more the willing to come up with the community and get it going.

I'd love a pan-fandom jamjar type game set in a palace or castle, maybe it could be sentient and feed off the characters emotions or something.

A jamjar castle that feeds off of strong emotions is interesting.

I was thinking that since it's sentiment, that their would be some more flexibility in the setting, like rooms changing or appearing suddenly, the decor changes with the season etc.

Post-apocalyptic settings would be fun, and/or something with a horror element! I'd like something that evolves and develops according to characters' choices, and is plotty without taking itself too seriously.

I'm a little full up with post-apocalyptic these days. Jamjar settings are only fun with the right perks/gimmick. I had a vague idea of a "drop in" kind of place, like an inn. People can show up or leave. But pan-fandom please. Not a PB/celebrity game where the characters are OCs who are just thinly veiled sock-puppets of the real people. Those squick me out personally.

I had a concept on LJ, using the Corinth wineshop from Les Mis. Then I opened up the comm for some friends and me to run a slightly different game. And then I had to leave.

It was a place for characters to visit personally (and leave messages) from a mysterious door in their own places. They could take rooms upstairs and stay, sit at the wine shop and talk or fight or whatever, or go home or take friends home or visit friends. There was a back room for adult shenanigans, and a back porch and garden. Not very elaborate. But safe for talky times and room for adventures in people's various home canon locales.

(I realise that this post is old, but there's not much in in this community so I figured I would comment on something rather than nothing. xD)

I personally run a very small-scale roleplay set in a rehab/psychiatric hospital, open to both live-in and outpatients of varying degrees of severity. (Currently we have a serial killer as well as someone just suffering from anxiety/insomnia/PTSD, for an example.) It's very laid-back and there's a lot of joking about with the character journals sometimes, even if the plots themselves tend to be serious.

However I'm a huuuuuuuge sucker for open-ended, end-of-the-world type scenarios and my fiancée and I have been chewing on an idea for a new RP. We're both fans of convenient!mutations due to [insert plot device here] that nontheless gets to be handled in a serious setting, and we're thinking of creating an RP where a nuclear plant of some kind malfunctions, killing or mutating everyone in a certain radius (probably the size of a country), but which leaves people on the outside unaffected and terrified of the people who were hit. So there'd be in-world politics going on about what to do with the mutated people, a protected border (which means limited supplies, etc) - it seems like it might need a lot of planning and tweaking but I think it might be worth it if it seems like others would be interested. xD

Well, I'm quite new to this type of RP (so a lot of terms people use on here confuse the hell out of me) and I used to really enjoy real life settings so I guess I'd be into that. I don't have any trouble with prison/end of the world etc but I don't really like fantasy/celeb rps. I like when posts are lengthy and I absolutely dislike oneliners, which I've seen done on tumblr a lot. That's about it, I guess. I might add I'm not a native speaker.

I don't even know why I'm replying though, this post is so old haha.
